Fresh off of its upset over Ohio State Saturday night, Virginia Tech unveiled a new patriotic helmet Monday night. The team will wear the helmets in this weekend’s matchup against East Carolina, which will be Military Appreciation Day at Lane Stadium.
Take a look. They are pretty sharp.

According to a release from the school, the helmets are meant to honor those who have served, are currently serving, or those who have lost their lives or injured in the line of duty. Throughout the game, there will be several activities and ceremonies that will recognize the Military, including video tributes and a WWII B-25 flyover.
The win over Ohio State gave the 2-0 Hokies a boost to No. 17 in the rankings. East Carolina won its opener over North Carolina Central before hanging close with South Carolina in a 33-23 loss.
Saturday’s game will kick off at noon.
