TMZ obtains 911 tapes from Ohio State QB J.T. Barrett and his pregnant girlfriend
Police were called to the home of Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett after Barrett and his pregnant girlfriend, Alexandria Barrett-Clark, both called 911 citing a domestic disturbance.
Barrett, who is nursing a broken ankle, claimed his “ex-girlfriend” was in his home, would not leave, and he wanted police to help remove her. Barrett-Clark told 911 Barrett choked her and flung her across a room. She also noted in the 911 call she was pregnant.
TMZ obtained the 911 tapes of both Barrett and Barrett-Clark and both sound remarkably calm in their calls. Barrett-Clark, when asked to describe Barrett, begins to note he’s the Ohio State quarterback, but stops short.
Police did respond to the call, but there were no visible injuries to either party. No arrests were made.

Gary Andersen Headed To Oregon State
Alvarez 'very surprised' by Andersen's move
Oregon State hires Wisconsin coach Gary Andersen
In a move that may be as surprising as the departure of Mike Riley to Nebraska, Oregon State has hired Wisconsin coach Gary Andersen as Riley's replacement.
We are excited to announce our new head coach, Gary Andersen. Let’s welcome him to Corvallis! #BeaverNation #GoBeavs http://ift.tt/1yAOt8p
— Beavers Football (@OSUBeaversFB) December 10, 2014
Andersen, 50, will be introduced at a press conference on Friday per the Portland Tribune.
Riley, the long-time coach of Oregon State, was hired by Nebraska last week. During Nebraska's search, Riley wasn't mentioned as a candidate. And during Oregon State's search, Andersen wasn't thought to be one of Oregon State's top targets.
Andersen, who signed an extension with Wisconsin in the offseason, replaced Bret Bielema as the Badgers' coach in 2013. He had a record of 19-7 in Madison though his final game will be the 59-0 loss that the Badgers suffered at the hands of Ohio State in the Big Ten Championship Game on Saturday.
Bielema, as you likely know, left Wisconsin to go to Arkansas.
Wisconsin announced that Andersen informed the team of his decision in a Wednesday afternoon meeting and the school said a search was already underway for his replacement. Will the Badgers be targeting some of the potential (non-Jim Harbaugh) candidates that Big Ten rival Michigan is looking at?

Because he left within two years of his deal, Andersen's buyout is a reported $3 million.
Under terms of contract w/Wisconsin, Gary Andersen was subject to $3M buyout for terminating during first two years of deal
— Steve Berkowitz (@ByBerkowitz) December 10, 2014
Andersen is a native of Salt Lake City and went to Utah, another Pac-12 school. Before arriving at Wisconsin, he coached at Utah State for four seasons. In 2012, his Aggies went 11-2 and almost beat Wisconsin that season. Before he was at Utah State, he was the defensive coordinator for Utah.
Oregon State was 5-7 in 2014. In Riley's 12 seasons with the school, Oregon State went to eight bowl games.

Former Clemson QB Chad Kelly tweets he's going to Ole Miss
Chad Kelly is heading to Ole Miss in 2015. The former Clemson quarterback tweeted he was a Rebel on Wednesday.
He confirmed the news in a text to RebelGrove.com.
Kelly was dismissed from Clemson in April for "conduct detrimental to the program." He was competing with Cole Stoudt and freshman Deshaun Watson to be Clemson's starting quarterback in 2014. Stoudt was named the starter, but was replaced by Watson during the 2014 season when Watson wasn't sidelined by injury.
Earlier Wednesday, Clemson announced that Watson would miss the bowl game because of surgery to fix a torn ACL and Stoudt would start against Oklahoma.
Kelly, the nephew of Bills QB Jim Kelly, enrolled at East Mississippi Community College for the 2014 season and threw for 3.905 yards and 47 touchdowns. EMCC won its third NJCAA title in four years with a 34-17 win over Iowa Western on Saturday.
At Ole Miss, Kelly will again have a chance to start. Bo Wallace is a senior and was backed up this season by Ryan Buchanan and DeVante Kincade. Both are redshirt freshmen.
During Clemson's spring game in April, Kelly reportedly yelled at members of Clemson's coaching staff during halftime. He didn't play in the second half, and the game gave Stoudt a leg up in the quarterback competition.
In January 2012, when Kelly was recruited as a four-star quarterback out of high school, tweeted some trash talk towards Stoudt about his impending arrival on campus.
If Kelly still has his swagger, he'll fit right in among the SEC, don't you think? If he needs a lesson in Ole Miss trash talk, he should chat with former Ole Miss basketball player Marshall Henderson.
And we'd be remiss in writing a post about Kelly without including this rap video from before he arrived at Clemson. Hopefully we can get a remix.

Outback Bowl to be Melvin Gordon's final game at Wisconsin
Will Melvin Gordon's last game as a Wisconsin Badger be against Auburn in the Outback Bowl?
Gordon was on the Dan Patrick Show on Wednesday and was asked about coming back for his final season of eligibility after discussing chemistry class. When Patrick brought up leaving early, Gordon hesitated and started laughing. And then when he was asked if leaving early, going to the Heisman ceremony and playing in the Outback Bowl was official, Gordon replied with a "Yep."
And Gordon meant to say yes too.
Melvin Gordon just told me he spilled it on @dpshow: He's turning pro. (But of course.) #badgers
— Teddy Greenstein (@TeddyGreenstein) December 10, 2014
Gordon was eligible for the draft last season after he got a medical redshirt in the 2011 season due to playing in just three games. However, he elected to return to school for 2014 after receiving a second round grade. And his 2015 draft grade will likely be no lower after he's accumulated 2,336 yards and 26 touchdowns in 13 games this season.
He's one of three players invited to the 2014 Heisman Trophy ceremony on Saturday along with Oregon QB Marcus Mariota and Alabama WR Amari Cooper. Mariota will be the likely winner of the award.
Last season, Gordon had 1,609 yards and 12 touchdowns. At one point this season, Gordon took over the career yards-per-carry record from Army's Glenn Davis, who officially holds the mark at 8.26 yards per carry. But after a few games with a lower yards per carry average, Gordon is at a still-incredibly-impressive 7.81 yards per carry.
The decision to leave is the obvious one in his case. His value may never be higher. There's more downside to leaving than there is to staying, especially if Gordon is as close to his degree as he told Patrick.

J.J. Watt forced to wear Ohio State sweatshirt after losing bet (Photo)
J.J. Watt is proud of his journey at the University of Wisconsin where went from a walk-on to an All-American, so it was no surprise that during the Big Ten Championship last weekend, Watt had faith his Badgers would pull out the win against Ohio State.
He was wrong.
The Buckeyes trounced Wisconsin 59-0 and Watt, who made a bet with teammate and Ohio State grad John Simon, had to pay the price.

A risky move by Simon because Watt looks really unhappy in this picture. Not sure an angry Watt is ever a good thing.

Police reportedly called to disturbance at J.T. Barrett's apartment
Columbus, Ohio, police were reportedly called to an incident at the apartment of Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett on Tuesday.
According to the police report, obtained by WSYX 6 in Columbus, a woman, Alexandria Barrett-Clark, identified as Barrett's girlfriend refused to leave his apartment after he told her to do so. Barrett said she "ran at him and pushed him."
Barrett says Barrett-Clark hit him. In the report, he says he pushed her away in self-defense, which caused her to fall to a bed. Barrett says he again asked her to leave. Again, he says, she refused.
Barrett-Clark says she told Barrett that she would leave in the morning.
She told police that Barrett confronted her in his bedroom and "choked her on the bed." She said Barrett used his forearm to apply pressue to her neck before taking her phone away from her.
Barrett-Clark told police she managed to get away from Barrett and call police.
According to police, both had no visible injuries and refused treatment. No arrests were made.
Barrett is currently recovering from surgery for a broken right ankle he suffered against Michigan in the last week of the regular season. Cardale Jones started for the Buckeyes in the Big Ten Championship Game and thanks to Ohio State's impressive performance in the game, the Buckeyes will play Alabama in the Sugar Bowl on January 1.
Before suffering the broken ankle, Barrett was a contender to be invited to New York for the Heisman Trophy ceremony on Saturday. He finished with 45 total touchdowns, 938 rushing yards and 2.834 passing yards.

Michigan's Devin Funchess declares for the NFL draft
Michigan announced on Tuesday that WR Devin Funchess will declare for the 2015 NFL draft.
Funchess was Michigan's leading receiver in 2014. He had 62 catches for 733 yards and four touchdowns while wearing the No. 1 jersey.
"I would like to thank my family, coaches and teammates for their support," Funchess said in a Michigan statement. "It's always been a dream of mine to play in the NFL, and I am prepared to take the next step in my journey.
"I want to personally thank Coach Hoke and his staff. I've learned life and character lessons from them, and they have helped me become a better person and man. I love Michigan. From the former players to the fans, it's a special place. The opportunity to play in the Big House in front of 100,000 strong each week, those are memories that will last with me forever. It's been an honor to strap on the winged helmet for three years with my teammates, and I will always bleed maize and blue."
Funchess was selected to the all-Big Ten second team by the league's coaches. At 6-5, 230, Funchess is listed at approximately the same height and weight as former Texas A&M WR Mike Evans and former Florida State WR Kelvin Benjamin. Both receivers were first round picks in the 2014 NFL draft.
In 2013, Funchess was officially listed as a tight end and had 748 receiving yards, the most in Michigan history for a player at the position and was also a second-team all-Big Ten coaches' team selection.

UAB faculty senate approves draft of 'no-confidence' resolution against president
UAB President Ray Watts had a draft of a resolution of a 'no-confidence' vote approved against him by UAB's faculty senate on Tuesday in the wake of the decision to cut the football program after the 2014 season.
The symbolic resolution, according to ABC 33/40, was approved with a two-thirds majority. And before the vote by the faculty senate, a statement written by Watts was read. In it, he said that he regretted the way the school handled its recent cost-cutting decisions and the announcement of them.
In addition to cutting football, UAB also cut the bowling and rifle programs. When announcing the decision to disband the football team, Watts said the school would have to invest $49 million over the next five years into the program.
Faculty Senate Dr. Chad Epps says a vote of no confidence is one of the most powerful statements a faculty can make. He also says this move goes beyond the decision to end football, and that it's all about shared governance rather than a dictatorship.
The faculty senate met behind closed doors in executive committee for more than an hour. They decided to draft two resolutions to bring to the entire faculty. One resolution is "no confidence" in President Ray Watts.
"One of the things we considered in our executive session was the fact that to consider a vote of no confidence even causes some damage to a university where we're trying to repair some damage,' said Epps. “So the potential exists that we could have some negative effects from this. We thought about that very hard.”
The other resolution "would request a more transparent re-evaluation of the athletics program" and "that could include reinstating football."
Both resolutions, upon their completion, will be sent to each faculty member before the faculty senate convenes for a special vote in January.
Despite finishing 6-6 in 2014, UAB did not receive a bowl berth on Sunday.

David Cutcliffe reportedly turned down Michigan job
Was Duke coach David Cutcliffe approached by Michigan about the Wolverines' coaching job?
According to NFL.com's Gil Brandt, Cutcliffe was offered the job by Michigan and turned it down.
Was told tonight #Michigan officials offered David Cutcliffe their job but the #Duke coach turned it down. Times sure have changed.
— Gil Brandt (@Gil_Brandt) December 10, 2014
Cutcliffe, 60, has been at Duke since 2008. After four losing seasons, Cutcliffe's Blue Devils are heading to a third-straight bowl game in 2014 in the Sun Bowl against Arizona State. Last year's Duke team entered the ACC Championship Game at 10-2 before losing to Florida State and then Texas A&M in the Peach Bowl.
Before coaching at Duke, Cutcliffe was the head coach at Ole Miss from 1999-2004. He coached Eli Manning at Ole Miss and was Tennessee's offensive coordinator when Peyton Manning played with the Volunteers.
If Cutcliffe did spurn the Wolverines, it's possible he simply didn't want to build another program. And yes, Wolverines, there is some building necessary after the last two years of Brady Hoke's reign. Hoke and Michigan parted ways last week.
Per TheWolverine.com, the search firm Michigan has hired for the coaching search reached out to LSU coach Les Miles to "gauge his interest." However, Miles isn't atop the list for the Wolverines. San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh also continues to be mentioned as a candidate for the job.
