Police say Michigan WR Csont'e York allegedly punched man outside bar
Ann Arbor police say that suspended sophomore Michigan WR Csont'e York punched a man outside of a bar on July 18.
The Detroit News obtained a copy of the police report and a surveillance video that police say is York punching the man. Details of three assault charges against York were given over the weekend but no specific reason had been provided. York was suspended at the beginning of August.
Michigan WR Da'Mario Jones is listed as being with York in the police report but he has not been charged with a crime. York is alleged to have punched John Lavoie-Mayer.
John Lavoie-Mayer was struck by York – the incident was captured on video outside the bar – and his mother told police her son suffered a broken jaw in three places, required plates to repair it, and the jaw was wired. He will require follow-up medical care every two weeks for several weeks, she said.
According to officer David Monroe's follow-up report describing what he saw on the video, he said it appears York was unprovoked before striking Lavoie-Mayer.
"With Mayer either looking forward or possibly slightly away from York, when York uses his right fist, punching in a westward direction, striking Lavoie-Mayer on the left side of his head," Monroe wrote.
York told police that he was elbowed by someone and told the person to "chill out" before he delivered the punch. A witness said Lavoie-Meyer and his friend were arguing about sports while Jones said a man made a comment about how Jones and York were really tough and got in their face. Jones also said he was afraid of being hit.
A true freshman last season, York played in one game. When his suspension was announced, Michigan coach Brady Hoke said he was suspended indefinitely.

Former Colorado State AD says firing was 'all about' proposed stadium
After announcing the firing of Colorado State athletic director Jack Graham on Friday, Colorado State president Tony Frank told boosters the decision had nothing to do with a proposed on-campus stadium that Graham backed.
Graham disagrees with that assessment, telling the Coloradoan that the decision to remove him as AD is "all about the stadium." In the statement announcing Graham's termination, Frank said "some substantial differences" in views existed between the two.
"I do think this was substantially about the stadium," Graham said. "There's been reference by Tony as well as by Amy Parsons that this is not about the stadium, that it's a personnel matter, and I really wish they'd stop that. It's an insinuation that I think is inappropriate and unfair, and I wish the university would take a high road and discontinue that kind of language.
"They terminated me for convenience, and I think it's time to move on from that conversation."
Graham, who was hired in December 2011, wanted to build a stadium to replace Hughes Stadium, which is two miles from the CSU campus. The cost of the stadium is estimated to be $220 million and a university official said that as of last month, the school had only raised $24.2 million. Graham disputes that figure as well, telling the Coloradoan that '"It was at least twice that much" and that another $15-20 million was "in the funnel, in the pipeline" to be in before October.
The school has a deadline in October to have half of the funs for the stadium in place. However, Graham said Brett Anderson, CSU's vice president for advancement and the official who cited the $24.2 million figure said half was too lofty of a goal and set a private goal of $75 million.
As part of his severance package, Graham is receiving his $260,000 salary through the end of his contract, money which he says he'll continue to donate back to the school. A former QB at CSU, Graham sold ICAT Managers, a catastrophic risk insurance business, in 2010.

Report: Oregon will not pay for QB Marcus Mariota's insurance policy
Insurance premiums have been a popular subject in the past couple months as teams such as Texas A&M, Baylor and Florida State have acknowledged they will use the NCAA's Student Assistance Fund to help pay the premiums of some of their top draft prospects.
But, according to Jeremy Fowler of CBSSports.com, one school with a top draft prospect and a possible Heisman Trophy winner will not be joining this trend — Oregon.
FSU, A&M, Baylor among teams prog student asst fund to help star players pay insurance premiums. One that's not -- Oregon for Marcus Mariota
— Jeremy Fowler (@JFowlerCBS) August 11, 2014
Quarterback Marcus Mariota, who is a viable candidate for the Heisman Trophy and possibly one of the top prospects in the upcoming NFL draft, will not receive money from Oregon to secure an insurance premium that will safeguard his future should he get hurt this season.
However, Mariota has noted in the past that his family has taken out a supplemental insurance policy for this season, but did not disclose how much it was or how much his family paid for the premium.
Many thought Mariota would make the jump to the NFL after last season, but he decided to stay in order to get his degree. Mariota has not disclosed his plans for after this season and, since he can come back to Oregon in 2015, they will probably depend on how his season turns out.

Ole Miss WR Laquon Treadwell makes fantastic one-handed catch (Video)
If Ole Miss is going to have a successful season, receiver Laquon Treadwell will be a main part of it. He led the team with 72 receptions last season and this year could be more of a scoring threat for the Rebels.
Treadwell showed he’s ready to step into that role Tuesday when he posted video of a beautiful one-handed touchdown catch during a Rebels’ practice.
As you can see from the video, Treadwell had enough concentration to catch the ball one-handed despite a defender briefly blocking his vision as he tried to knock the pass down.
Treadwell averaged 8.4 yards per catch last season, but could emerge as a viable deep threat this season with Donte Moncrief gone to the NFL.
Regardless of how the Rebels decide to use Treadwell, plays like this show he’s ready to pick up where he left off last season.

Missouri's offensive line did a group 'Wiggle' (Video)
Hip mobility is important for offensive linemen. It looks like Missouri's offensive line has good hip mobility.
During practice on Sunday, Missouri's offensive line twerked to Jason Derulo's "Wiggle," and if you think it looked like the group practiced their dance moves, you're right. They knew what they were doing.
Last year, the line started the tradition of "Christmas Thursdays," where the group would dance to Christmas music in the parking lot of the athletic facilities. Before the SEC Championship Game, the line twerked to Christmas music.

Take a look at Tulane's Yulman Stadium (Video)
Tulane's new Yulman Stadium doesn't host a game until September 6, but here's a chance to take a look at the field and what the stadium looks like from field level.
The turf is on the field and complete with American Athletic Conference logos. Tulane hosted AAC commissioner Mike Aresco on Monday as the Green Wave moves into the conference after playing in Conference USA last season.
And yes, the midfield logo is the updated Tulane logo. Previously, the wave behind the "T" has been gray, but now it's green to accurately reflect the nickname.
Yulman is not the first on-campus stadium that Tulane has had. Tulane Stadium opened in 1926 and closed in August 1975. The New Orleans Saints played at Tulane Stadium before the Superdome was open and Tulane Stadium hosted three Super Bowls.
