The Texas football team went bowling on Sunday (Video)
Is this the most excited players have ever been to go bowling?
Texas coach Charlie Strong took his team bowling on Sunday after Saturday's scrimmage. Perhaps it was because he was in a great mood after the scrimmage.
In addition to telling whoever filmed the bowling announcement that videos should always be taken in landscape, maybe someone should have given the Longhorns a bowling etiquette lesson? You're not supposed to bowl in neighboring lanes at the same time. That's like putting at the same time in golf.
There were some interesting bowling techniques used too. The bouncing ball technique looked similar to the way I excellently bowl in Wii bowling. (True story. It's a guaranteed way to score 230+ every game.)

Fresno State breaks out all-navy uniforms and chrome helmets (Video)
Fresno State has new uniforms and chrome helmets too.
The Bulldogs will wear the chrome lids with all-navy uniforms on October 3 against San Jose State. Last year, Fresno played San Jose State on the road in one of the most exciting games of the season. The Bulldogs won 62-52.
The all-navy look is a takeoff on the all-black idea Fresno did for a game last season. The school will now have three jersey colors (red, white and navy) and the red and white jerseys are being "upgraded" from the last time Fresno State's uniforms were redesigned in 2011.
Fresno will also have gray pants. According to the school, the all-navy and all-red combination set for September 13 are the only two games with uniform combinations decided. Every other uniform combination will be voted on by team captains before the game.
The school also said the helmet stripe has been reversed on its red helmets. Instead of starting from the back, it will start from the top of the facemask.

Florida State gets all but three first-place votes in preseason AP poll
Just like the Coaches Poll, Florida State is the overwhelming preseason No. 1 in the AP Poll.
The Seminoles got 57 of a possible 60 first place votes in the preseason poll released Sunday afternoon. The only other teams receiving votes were No. 2 Alabama, No. 3 Oregon and No. 4 Oklahoma, who each received a vote apiece. Ohio State was No. 5.
Auburn was No. 5 in the Coaches Poll. The Tigers are No. 6 in the AP Poll. The AP Poll top 10 ended with UCLA, Michigan State, South Carolina and Baylor. The same teams were in the top 10 in each poll. The only team in the AP Poll who isn't in the Coaches Poll is Missouri. The Tigers are 24th in the AP Poll, the same spot that Texas occupies in the Coaches Poll. The Longhorns are not ranked in the AP Poll.
Overall, there are very few discrepancies of more than a place or two in the AP Poll and the Coaches Poll, though I think we can all agree that they both simply serve as talking points at the beginning of the season rather than an accurate indication of teams' real strength. Below is the complete poll with the team's Coaches Poll rank in parentheses.
(Votes for the AP Poll were due before Notre Dame's announcement of an investigation into academic fraud.)
1. Florida State (57 1st place votes) (1st in Coaches Poll)
2. Alabama (1) (2)
3. Oregon (1) (4)
4. Oklahoma (1) (3)
5. Ohio State (6)
6. Auburn (5)
7. UCLA (7)
8. Michigan State (8)
9. South Carolina (9)
10. Baylor (10)
11. Stanford (11)
12. Georgia (12)
13. LSU (13)
14. Wisconsin (14)
15. USC (15)
16. Clemson (16)
17. Notre Dame (17)
18. Ole Miss (19)
19. Arizona State (18)
20. Kansas State (21)
21. Texas A&M (20)
22. Nebraska (22)
23. North Carolina (23)
24. Missouri (NR, first not receiving votes)
25. Washington (25)

Bret Bielema didn't want Auburn to have any secrets from Saturday's scrimmage
Arkansas coach Bret Bielema must have some surprises in store for Auburn.
The Razorbacks and Tigers meet to open the season on August 30 and on Saturday, Bielema had a message for any fans who saw anyone taping the Hogs' scrimmage.
"If you see someone videotaping, tell them that ain't right," Bielema said when addressing the crowd before the scrimmage via NWAOnline.com. "Especially if they're wearing an Auburn shirt, knock the [poop] out of them."
The line drew cheers from the estimated 3,500 in attendance. Maybe Bielema's secret is that his team will come out and copy Auburn coach Gus Malzahn's uptempo, no-huddle style and surprise a defense that is very likely expecting a slow pace? It'd be quite a turnabout from the coach who has spoken out staunchly against fast-paced offenses. But how awesome would it be to see happen? There's probably a significant portion of Arkansas fans who would find it hilarious.
Even though it's a road game for Arkansas, the Auburn game could serve as a litmus test for the progress made from Bielema's first to second season with the team. Auburn QB Nick Marshall won't start after he received a marijuana citation in the offseason. If Arkansas can capitalize without Marshall in the game, the Razorbacks may have a chance for a bowl game in 2014.

Northern Illinois unveils new uniforms for 2014 (Video)
Northern Illinois surprised its players with new uniforms on Saturday.
The team unveiled different uniform combinations for 2014 at a team meeting. The school now has red home uniforms, black home uniforms and the black uniforms with chrome numbers that it wore in 2013.
Of course, not all of the combinations are monochrome. As evidenced by the video, the team will be mixing and matching colors, potentially wearing a different uniform for every home game this season. If you ask us, the black tops and red pants look the best.
Not included in the uniform unveiling on Saturday, however, were the corn jerseys that the team is wearing for the first game of the year. Northern Illinois is wearing jerseys to honor Corn Fest against Presbyterian.
