Swinney: QB Watson (knee) not seriously injured

Todd Gurley reportedly tears left ACL

It looks like Georgia running back Todd Gurley's season, and possibly his college career, is over.

Gurley reportedly tore the ACL in his left knee during Georgia's win over Auburn on Saturday. Gurley went down on a carry in the fourth quarter and didn't return. It was a non-contact injury. Gurley planted his foot and tumbled to the ground in pain. Multiple outlets are reporting the news, including UGASports.com.

The game against Auburn was Gurley's first game back after serving a four-game suspension for accepting money for his autograph. Gurley reportedly took over $3,000 to sign memorabilia, a violation of NCAA rules.

Against Auburn, Gurley had 29 carries for 138 yards and a touchdown. He also had a kick return for a touchdown in the first quarter that was called back because of a holding penalty. He'll finish the season with 911 yards and nine touchdowns.

Gurley was suspended before Georgia's game against Missouri in October and missed games against Arkansas, Florida and Kentucky as well.

A junior, Gurley is eligible to enter the NFL draft after the 2014 season and given the injury risks for running backs as well as what transpired throughout 2014, it's a strong possibility he'll declare for the draft despite the injury.

By coming back in 2015, Gurley's draft stock could take a hit with another injury or a poor season. While running backs aren't drafted as highly as they used to be in the NFL, Gurley's best decision is to likely forego his senior season and play in the NFL in 2015.

Gurley will be replaced, again, in Georgia's lineup by freshman Nick Chubb. Chubb had 19 carries for 144 yards and two touchdowns against Auburn and has 1,039 yards this season and nine touchdowns.

AP poll: FSU, Tide go 1-2

Florida State moves to No. 1 in both AP and coaches polls

Florida State is the new No. 1 team in the AP and coaches polls.

The Seminoles' comeback win over Miami Saturday night kept FSU undefeated, and coupled with Mississippi State's loss to Alabama, the Seminoles moved up from No. 2.

Florida State is the only undefeated Power Five conference team in the country. However, there's a good chance its 10-0 record won't be good enough for the top spot in the College Football Playoff rankings. Last week, Florida State fell to No. 3 behind MSU and Oregon. With Oregon off on Saturday and Alabama's win over MSU, it's doubtful the Seminoles will make the jump to No. 1.

MSU fell to No. 4 in both polls while Alabama jumped to No. 2 from No. 3 in the coaches poll and No. 4 in the AP poll. Oregon is No. 3.

TCU, which survived an upset scare against Kansas, is No. 5. Baylor, the team that beat TCU, is No. 6, while Ohio State is No. 7 in both polls. The only disparity in the top 10 between the two polls is a flip-flop of Georgia and Michigan State at Nos. 9 and 10.

The complete polls are below with each team's rank last week and the number of first place votes it received.

Michigan DE Frank Clark arrested on domestic violence charges

Michigan defensive end Frank Clark was booked into jail on charges of domestic violence Sunday morning.

From MLive.com:

Per an officer at the prison, Clark is being held without bond until his 9 a.m. court appearance at 9 a.m. Monday at the Sandusky Municipal Court. Bond will be set at that time.

Michigan was off on Saturday and Clark was arrested in Perkins Township, Ohio. He's a native of Cleveland. There are no details about the charges and there has been no update on his status with the team from Michigan coach Brady Hoke. A Michigan spokesperson told ESPN that "We are aware of the report and are gathering more information."

Clark, a senior, has 42 tackles, including 13.5 for loss and 4.5 sacks. He's started nine of Michigan's 10 games this season and was a second-team All-Big 10 selection in 2013.

Clark was arrested in 2012 and admitted to stealing a laptop from a dorm room at Michigan. He was given a year's probation and ordered to pay over $1,700 in costs and fines.

Michigan plays Maryland on November 22.

Mercer lineman scores touchdown and does a cartwheel (Video)

We don't blame Thomas Marchman for being really, really excited.

The Mercer lineman caught a touchdown pass on a designed play against Warner on Saturday and celebrated by bowling with his teammates and by doing a cartwheel.

Mercer, an FCS school (and the school that beat Duke in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament in March), routed NAIA Warner 56-0, so it was the perfect opportunity to get Marchman a chance at a touchdown.

However, you'll notice that the bowling celebration came at a cost. The Bears were flagged for a group celebration. If we're judging the cartwheel, we'll give him a solid 7.5 out of 10.

It's a play that also worked better for Mercer than it did for a prominent FBS team. While trailing by seven late in the game against Missouri, Texas A&M tried a throwback pass to tight end Cameron Clear on fourth down near the goal line. Missouri read the play and stopped A&M for a loss of one. The Tigers went on to win 34-27.

Will Muschamp will not coach Florida in 2015

Will Muschamp is out at Florida.

The Gators' football coach will not coach in 2015 according to multiple reports. On Saturday, Florida lost 23-20 to South Carolina in overtime after giving up a tying touchdown late in the fourth quarter after South Carolina blocked a punt.

Per ESPN, Muschamp will coach the final two games of the season and then step down.

2014 is Muschamp's fourth season at Florida and he has a record of 27-20 and 17-15 in the SEC. After going 7-6 in his first season in 2011, Muschamp's Gators went 11-2 in 2012 and lost to Louisville in the Sugar Bowl.

Florida was six games worse in 2013 and finished 4-8. It was Florida's first losing season since 1979.

The loss to South Carolina eliminated Florida from any hope of winning the SEC East and dropped the Gators to 5-4. Two weeks before the South Carolina game, Florida steamrolled Georgia 38-20.

Before becoming Florida's head coach, Muschamp was Texas' defensive coordinator and the coach-in-waiting for former Texas coach Mack Brown.

Florida's two remaining games are against Eastern Kentucky and Florida State.

Arizona State's dream season ends with loss to Oregon State

Arizona State’s dream season came to a halt Saturday thanks to a 35-27 upset win by Oregon State.

The Beavers, winners of just one other conference game, were having a miserable season, but breaking up the Sun Devils’ bid for a Pac-12 South title and a potential spot in the College Football Playoff might make everything a little better for awhile.

Arizona State was one of the few teams on the outside of the playoff’s top 4 that controlled its destiny — win out and the Sun Devils were in.

And Arizona State looked ready to tackle the challenge with a thorough demolishing of Notre Dame last weekend. But all of the emotion that the Sun Devils put into that game against the Irish was lacking against the Beavers, who controlled the ground game early and then finished off the Sun Devils with a couple touchdown passes from quarterback Sean Mannion.

Arizona State quarterback Taylor Kelly threw a pick-six to Michael Doctor with 1:38 remaining and then was sacked on fourth down to essentially end the game.

The loss not only pushes the two-loss Sun Devils out of playoff contention, it also moves them out of the driver’s seat for the Pac-12 South. UCLA, USC and Arizona all have a shot at it, but of those teams, UCLA is the one that controls its destiny. If the Bruins win out, they would play Oregon for the conference title.

For Oregon State, it's lost season isn't so lost anymore. The Beavers have games against Washington and Oregon remaining. If they win at least one, they are bowl eligible.
