Houston will travel to Provo, Utah, for its first road contest of the season against BYU on Thursday. The game is taking place on September 11, and to commemorate those lost in the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City on September 11, 2001, the Cougars will wear white helmets with an American flag “UH” decal.

Houston isn't the only team embracing a patriotic look in Week 3. Maryland's uniforms for Saturday's game against West Virginia have words from the National Anthem on them. Additionally, Virginia Tech's helmets will also feature the stars and stripes inside the logo on Military Appreciation Day at Lane Stadium.
The Cougars improved to 1-1 Saturday with a blowout home win over Grambling State. It will be a tough test to knock off BYU, who recently entered the Top 25 rankings after blowing out Texas on the road, 41-7. The game is BYU’s home opener for the season, so it will sure to be a raucous environment at LaVell Edwards Stadium.
