Arkansas’ favorite super fan Liz Honey is back with a new song just in time for the season to kick off this week.
Honey, who is affectionately known as the “Singing Hog Lady,” has her nose taped up and is ready to Woo Pig Sooie with her Arkansas-themed rendition of Glenn Frey’s “The Heat Is On.”
Last season, Liz Honey, whose actual name is Liz McDaniel, provided entertainment for college football fans all over the country as she tried to spur on the Razorbacks with her Arkansas-infused versions of songs that were popular like 30 years ago.
McDaniel, a city clerk treasurer in Nashville, Ark., gained a lot of attention for her work but as Arkansas started to struggle, she faded into the ether perhaps thinking she was the cause for the team’s woes.
So, we’re super excited that she’s come back for a new season with a new attitude and, apparently, new(ish) music.
So, here’s hoping the Singing Hog Lady can change the Razorbacks’ fortunes so we’re treated to a new serenade every week.
