Ole Miss WR Laquon Treadwell posts positive message on Instagram following grisly injury (Photo)

Laquon Treadwell’s season ended in sad, grisly and disappointing fashion on Saturday when he suffered a broken leg and dislocated ankle in the final minutes of a loss against Auburn.

While the Ole Miss community mourned Treadwell’s injury, the sophomore receiver tried to remain upbeat by using Instagram to post an inspirational message next to him being carted off the field.

“Not everything in life is set out to be easy, & not every plan we have for ourselves work out in our favor. Even the greatest & most powerful people we praise or look up to have huge downfalls, but it takes a strong person & an even stronger mindset to prepare for that major come back. It didn't kill me, so watch as I become stronger. Thanks for the prayers everyone, God bless.”

Treadwell was injured while he was trying to score what could have been the game-winning touchdown. Auburn linebacker Kris Frost pulled Treadwell backward by his jersey and Treadwell’s leg and ankle rolled underneath him. Treadwell dropped the ball before he crossed the goal line and Auburn fell on it in the end zone.

The loss was Ole Miss’ second and likely knocks the Rebels out of contention for the College Football Playoff.
