Five-star recruit CeCe Jefferson takes back FSU commitment, claims teammates took his phone

CeCe Jefferson, a Rivals.com five-star recruit in the class of 2015, took to Twitter on Monday to announce his verbal commitment to Florida State. The decision was considered a bit of a surprise for the No. 12 prospect in the country, who is thought to be favoring Florida and Ole Miss more than the Seminoles.

Fans of those the Gators and Rebels could exhale a few minutes after the initial tweet (which was deleted) was sent. In a follow-up tweet, Jefferson claimed his teammates got ahold of his phone and sent the tweet. He added that his official commitment would wait until national signing day on Feb. 4.

Jefferson, a 6-foot-2, 245-pound defensive end from Glen St. Mary, Fla., is considered the second-best strongside defensive end in the country and the fifth-best prospect in the state of Florida by Rivals.com.

In addition to considering Florida, Ole Miss and Florida State, Jefferson visited Alabama Oct. 17 and also has visits to LSU, Georgia, and UCLA scheduled before the end of the year.
