Les Miles would like to take a moment to remind you of your civic duty

Les Miles, as he is wont to do, issued a public service announcement Monday — get out and vote.

Miles used the opening statement of his weekly press conference to remind everyone of their civic duty and to remind folks that Election Day was different than other days lest there be any confusion.

"Just recognize that it's Election Day coming up, where all those model citizens will get off and take care of their duties to their country," Miles said. "This is not Columbus Day; this is not just for the Italians. This is certainly not St. Paddy's; it's not just for the Irish. It's for all of those who have the ability to vote in our country, so get out and do that please."

A year ago, Miles took a moment out of his press conference to remind us all the value of Columbus Day, and he borrowed some of that message for Monday’s opening statement.

Here at Dr. Saturday, we commend Miles for being a walking, talking date book. If Miles didn’t keep reminding us of these important events, we as a college football nation might very well be lost.
