Georgia running back Todd Gurley completes 50-yard pass (GIF)

Georgia star running back Todd Gurley used his arm – not his legs – to help the Bulldogs increase their lead late in the first half against Vanderbilt.

On a second-down play from Georgia’s 23 yard line, Gurley lined up as a wildcat quarterback. The Vanderbilt defense was understandably expecting Gurley to run. Instead, he faked a handoff and looked down field, finding tight end Jeb Blazevich streaking downfield.

The left-handed Gurley delivered a perfect toss to Blazevich behind the defense for a 50-yard gain. The connection between Gurley and Blazevich was the longest pass play of the season for Georgia, who was able to score on a Hutson Mason pass to Chris Conley five plays later.

Currently ranked 13th in the nation, Georgia leads the Commodores 34-10 early in the fourth quarter. In addition to his 50 yards throwing, Gurley has 117 yards rushing and two scores along with two catches for 24 yards.
