Alabama RB Kenyan Drake suffers serious ankle injury (GIF)

Alabama RB Kenyan Drake was carted off the field in the second quarter against Ole Miss after suffering a gruesome ankle injury.

Drake was running after making a catch and his left foot was caught on the ground and twisted awkwardly he was taken to the ground. He immediately started screaming when the injury happened and was tended to by trainers.

Here's a GIF of the injury. (Warning, the aftermath is graphic.)

A closer view of the tackle. It was an unfortunate case of timing.

Alabama's medical staff put an air cast on Drake's leg immediately and he gave the crowd a thumbs up as he was carted off the field.

Drake, a junior, is part of Alabama's three-headed monster running back rotation with Derrick Henry and T.J. Yeldon. Through four-plus games he has 22 carries for 112 yards and four touchdowns and five catches for 159 yards and two touchdowns. Against Florida he caught an 87-yard touchdown pass from Blake Sims on the Crimson Tide's first offensive play of the game.
