Missouri quarterback Maty Mauk struggled during Saturday’s game against South Carolina, but a hit early in the fourth quarter might have made him feel a little bit better.
Following a 25-yard run, Mauk was pushed out of bounds on the South Carolina sideline and went careering into coach Steve Spurrier.
Spurrier was actually trying to get out of the way and ran right into Mauk’s path. Spurrier had his back turned and was pushed into the athletic training table. Mauk stopped himself and ran right back by Spurrier without saying a word. Spurrier, on the other hand, wasn’t pleased and no doubt had some sort of quip about it later.
Mauk did get the last laugh by leading Missouri to two touchdowns in the final seven minutes of the game and securing a 21-20 come-from-behind victory.
