Thursday, Nebraska defensive end Jack Gangwish saw a raccoon on the side of the road while driving. So, like any one of us would do, he pulled over and decided he wanted to get his picture taken with it.

The 21-year-old got out of his 2002 Chevy Duramax pickup truck and tried to take a photo with the animal using his cellphone, but the raccoon attacked, biting Gangwish in the calf.
“It was a raccoon selfie gone completely wrong,” Gangwish said Thursday evening, laughing.
He posted a picture of the wound to Twitter and was having fun with the mishap.

— Jack Gangwish (@jackgangwish) December 4, 2014 He had the presence of mind to realize the raccoon should be tested for rabies, so he got a crescent wrench out of his car, though as he tried to subdue it, according to the paper, he would up bringing it to its demise.
The raccoon's body is currently being tested.
Gangwish had 18 tackles in 11 games this season for the Huskers. We sincerely hope the raccoon doesn't have rabies, though do think Gangwish faking rabies on the field in Nebraska's bowl game would be a very solid intimidation tactic.
