Nebraska's Vincent Valentine was unhappy with Huskers' CFP drop

Lost in the jumbling of the top 10 in Tuesday's College Football Playoff rankings is the drop that the Nebraska Cornhuskers suffered.

Your first reaction is probably that Nebraska lost on Saturday, right? No. But the Huskers didn't win, either. Nebraska was off and fell from No. 13 to No. 16. It's a drop that undoubtedly doesn't sit well with Nebraska fans and even with some players like defensive tackle Vincent Valentine, who has 27 tackles and two sacks this season.

Dang I didn't know bye weeks count as losses smh. Disrespect.

Saturday can't come fast enough now. Time to go get it.

While four teams above Nebraska lost last week, only one, Notre Dame, fell below the Huskers. Auburn, Kansas State and Michigan State all stayed ahead of Nebraska, even though Nebraska has one loss and each of those three teams has two.

Plus, three teams below Nebraska made moves ahead of the Cornhuskers. UCLA, Arizona and Georgia all moved up despite also each having two losses.

Was Nebraska punished because it's loss came to Michigan State, who lost to Ohio State on Saturday? It's not out of the realm of possibility.

We'll be blunt. Nebraska has little, if any, chance of making the College Football Playoff. But not all hope is lost for making a New Year's Bowl game. If Nebraska beats Wisconsin Saturday and goes undefeated and wins the Big Ten, the Huskers will likely finish the season inside the top eight of the rankings.

But given the movement in this week's rankings, the only thing we're entirely sure of is that we're not sure of anything.
