USC to wear metallic helmets with chrome facemasks for homecoming (Photo)

USC is going with a brand new helmet for Saturday’s homecoming contest against Colorado.

The program unveiled these awesome metallic helmets with chrome facemasks on Twitter on Wednesday. It’s a fresh take on the Trojans’ classic helmets.

Even traditionalists can appreciate this helmet, especially if it's worn on an occasional basis. It still maintains the long-standing USC look. The logo is unchanged and the facemask is still gray – it’s just shiny now!

Coming off a road win over No. 10 Arizona, the 4-2 Trojans, now ranked No. 22, will look to get a winning streak going against the 2-4 Buffs – a team coming off back-to-back close conference losses to Cal (59-56 in 2OT) and Oregon State (36-31).

The game will kick off at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum at 6:00 p.m. ET.
