TCU QB Trevone Boykin will play with cast on left wrist against Oklahoma State

TCU QB Trevone Boykin sufferd a left wrist injury against Baylor but he's going to play against Oklahoma State with a cast on it.

Boykin throws right-handed and has been practicing all week according to coach Gary Patterson.

"He's been practicing since Sunday. He's been awesome. I really haven't noticed anything (about him being hurt)," Patterson said via PurpleMenace.com. "[Former TCU LB] Tank Carder had the same thing on a Wednesday or Thursday and still played. It's about tolerating, but he wasn't even wearing a soft cast today. He will for the ball game, but it's about him managing it. He's a tough kid."

Earlier in the week, a report emerged that Boykin had surgery on his left wrist and would miss 4-6 weeks. TCU quickly debunked the surgery report, but confirmed an injury Wednesday.

Boykin has been one of the best QBs in the Big 12 this season. He's thrown for 1.463 yards, 11 touchdowns and two interceptions. If he's somehow unable to play, TCU's backup QB is Matt Joeckel, a transfer from Texas A&M. Joeckel started Texas A&M's 2013 season-opener after Johnny Manziel was suspended for a half game.
