UCLA beat Cal 36-34 after an interception by Marcus Rios was upheld via replay review.
Two plays prior, Cal converted a fourth down and got to the UCLA 39-yard-line with over a minute left. After a running play on first down that gained three yards, Cal QB Jared Goff went deep on second down and Rios was right there.
This is how close it was.
The interception was called an interception on the field and upheld via replay review. While Rios' toes aren't visible, you can see that his foot was parallel to the sideline just briefly before he lost traction on the turf and his right foot went out-of-bounds.
With 3:40 to go in the fourth quarter, UCLA took the lead on a 26-yard field goal by Ka'imi Fairbairn, almost three minutes after Cal went ahead for the first time since the second quarter on a 23-yard touchdown from Goff to Kenny Lawler.
In the fourth quarter, WR Trevor Davis was taken off on a stretcher after taking a knee to the head on a kick return. Davis was down for an extended period of time and gave a thumbs up as he was being taken off the field. On the aforementioned fourth down play on Cal's final drive, WR Chris Harper stayed down after he was hit in the head on a tackle. Harper walked off the field.
