Virginia Tech QB Michael Brewer scored after scooping up a teammate's fumble (GIF)

After throwing a brutal pick-six to give Georgia Tech a 17-16 lead, Virginia Tech quarterback Michael Brewer made a heads-up play in the fourth quarter that may end up being the difference in the game for the Hokies.

On the seventh play of the drive that followed the interception, Brewer handed the ball off to freshman tailback Marshawn Williams on a first-and-10 from the Georgia Tech 31-yard line. Williams carried the ball left, then cut back right and fumbled. Several GT players attempted to fall on the fumble, but the ball bounced away and it was none other than Brewer who was Johnny on the spot.

He scooped up the fumble and ran it in from 21 yards out for the go-ahead score.

The Hokies then converted a two-point conversion to increase the lead to 24-17.

In addition to the score on the fumble, Brewer has thrown for 297 yards and run for 50 yards so far in the ball game.
