Rick Neuheisel nervously watched his son Jerry lead UCLA to a comeback win (Video)

When star UCLA quarterback Brett Hundley went down with an elbow injury in Saturday night’s game against Texas, backup Jerry Neuheisel, the son of former UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel, was brought into the game.

The younger Neuheisel threw two second-half touchdown passes and led the Bruins to a come-from-behind 20-17 win. Jerry, who now works as an analyst for Pac-12, watched anxiously from the network’s studio.

His reactions were fantastic.

In all, the sophomore completed 23-of-30 passes for 178 yards in the third game action of his career. Hundley’s injury doesn’t appear to be serious and the Bruins have a bye this upcoming weekend, which will give him some extra time to heal. The Bruins’ next game is a Thursday night game against Arizona State on Sept. 25.

If Hundley can’t go, Neuheisel will get his first career start.
