Nebraska marching band plans 'Fear Ameer' tribute at halftime (Photo)

Nebraska’s Heisman push for running back Ameer Abdullah is in full swing and now the marching band is even getting in on the action.

Doug Bush, director of the Cornhusker Marching Band, tweeted out this tease Wednesday of how the band plans to celebrate Abdullah during halftime of this weekend’s game against Illinois.

Is this real life? Yes, for reals! Happening this Saturday's Halftime. @UNLBands #FearAmeer #Huskers http://ift.tt/1t02A4u

Here’s a look at what is should look like in motion:

The Fear Ameer moniker is what Nebraska has used in its promotional material and the hashtag the school uses on social media. The school also has a website called fearameer.com to promote Abdullah’s accomplishments.

Abdullah currently has rushed for 625 yards and five touchdowns through four games this season. He already has two games with more than 200 yards rushing and three games with more than 100 yards.

However, it’s an uphill climb for a running back to win the Heisman.

Quarterbacks have won the award in 12 of the past 14 years and the two running backs that have won during that span, including Reggie Bush who had to give his Trophy back, were on teams that combined to go 23-0 during their regular seasons.

Nebraska isn’t considered a national title contender despite its 4-0 record, so Abdullah would need remarkable games from here on out to get the votes necessary for trip to New York.

And hey, a little love from the marching band doesn’t hurt.
