Louisville and Virginia scuffled at halftime of the Cavaliers' win (video)

Louisville and Virginia were a bit chippy as the teams entered the locker room for halftime.

They both headed to the tunnel at the same time as Virginia led 10-7, and players started exchanging words. It went from there, as one Virginia player grabbed a Louisville player, who looks like he started swinging.

Officials quickly got into the middle of the brouhaha and threw flags. But the penalties offset as the second half kickoff was from the usual spot.

The teams were acting like long-time ACC rivals in the skirmish though this was the first time they had played each other as members of the ACC and the first time the teams had played each other since 1989, or before any of the players on each roster were born.

This will be a meeting that happens annually from now on though. The two teams are set as rivals in the ACC's 14-team format. Virginia won Saturday's meeting 23-21 and its fans stormed the field after the game.
