Utah fans can get priority boarding on Alaska Airlines during football season

Alaska Airlines' fan promotion for priority boarding is back.

After allowing fans wearing the jersey of Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson to priority board from December 2013 through the end of the football season, Alaska has entered a partnership with Utah that allows all Utah fans to priority board from August 23 through December 1 at Salt Lake City International airport if they're wearing a Utah shirt or jersey.

The partnership also includes discount codes for Utah fans to use for road trips to UCLA, Oregon State and Stanford and for Utah fans outside of the Utah area to travel to home games. For all flights to Salt Lake City at the time of Utah's home games and for flights to the nearest airports of the three aforementioned road games, Utah fans can get 20 percent off.

It was, of course, a coincidence, but after the promotion with the Seahawks and Wilson (who was subsequently named a spokesperson for the Seattle-based company), Seattle went on to win the Super Bowl. But Utah fans are now likely hoping the Alaska blessing carries over this season in the Pac-12.

However, Seattle was picked by many to be a contender in the NFC West before the season in 2013. Utah is generally considered by many to finish in the bottom half of the Pac-12 South this season.
