Two Florida linemen blocked each other (GIF)

A play where two Florida linemen blocked each other in a loss to Georgia Southern seemed to encapsulate Florida’s disastrous 2013 season. It happened again on Saturday.

During the first half of a home game against South Carolina, linemen Max Garcia and Trip Thurman briefly blocked one another as quarterback Treon Harris dropped back to pass and then scrambled forward for a four-yard gain.

Sure it wasn’t quite as bad as last season’s blunder, but it brought back bad memories that Florida fans would love to forget.

The 5-3 Gators can clinch bowl eligibility with a win over the Gamecocks. The two teams are tied 10-10 early in the second half.

Georgia Tech RB Broderick Snoddy suffers an apparent broken leg (Graphic Video)

Georgia Tech running back Broderick Snoddy suffered what appeared to be a broken leg during the first half of the Yellow Jackets’ game against Clemson.

** WARNING GRAPHIC VIDEO **

Georgia Tech RB Broderick Snoddy suffers a broken leg.

Snoddy suffered the injury after taking the option pitch from quarterback Justin Thomas moving to his left. Snoddy started to accelerate downfield when a Clemson defender grabbed him. Snoddy’s left leg kicked his right leg causing it to bend in half.

Georgia Tech medical personel immediately came out with a stretcher and Snoddy’s teammates surrounded him as he was carted off the field.

Snoddy’s injury was the second major incident of the half. Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson suffered what looked like a knee injury earlier in the game. Both injuries were a result of players getting tripped up by the turf.

Nebraska fan cited after trying (and failing) to jump over moving cab

Saturday afternoon’s game between Nebraska and Wisconsin may decide the Big Ten’s west division, so fans are pretty fired up. One Nebraska fan, who traveled all the way to Madison, was a little too fired up Friday night.

According to the Wisconsin State-Journal, Bryce Consbruck, a 22-year-old Nebraska fan, was cited for “Sudden Pedestrian Movement” early Saturday morning after “attempting to jump over a moving taxi” shortly after 2 a.m.

Consbruck’s attempted acrobatics did not go well. He missed and sustained facial injuries. Consbruck, who was described as intoxicated, was taken to a local hospital.

The wackiness doesn’t end there. After being cited, officers said Consbruck went on an “expletive laden statement” where he “expressed his desire for the Cornhuskers to defeat the Badgers.”

He also promised to officers that he would “never try and jump over a moving car again.” That’s probably a wise idea, Bryce.
