Utah QB Travis Wilson cuts his locks for kids with cancer (Photo)

We’re a little late on this story, but it was still worth noting…

Utah quarterback Travis Wilson will be sporting a new look this spring after cutting off his shoulder-length hair and donating it to the Jesse Rees Foundation. The foundation helps children and their parents with emotional and final support while fighting cancer.

Wilson paired with the foundation last year after hearing about it while he was coaching at Elite 11 camp in the summer.

During the Utes 2014 season opener against Idaho State, Wilson and the team invited 6-year-old Matthew Burr to serve as an honorary captain. Burr joined the Ute Walk to the stadium before the game, he was on the field for the coin toss and received a T-shirt and a signed football.

Wilson told the Salt Lake Tribune after the game that he hoped to bring other kids out for similar opportunities.

Wilson isn't the first quarterback to donate his hair to a cancer charity. Former quarterback Jordan Wynn, who is now the quarterbacks coach at Hawaii, also donated his hair in honor of his late grandmother, who died from the disease.
