Former Nebraska DT Aaron Curry to transfer to Oklahoma

Nebraska defensive tackle Aaron Curry is transferring to Oklahoma, according to various reports, including Rivals’ Sooner Scoop.

Curry is currently working toward a release, which could come as early as Monday. His father played basketball at Oklahoma.

As a sophomore, Curry started eight games in 2013 and appeared in 13. However, he hasn’t been able to crack the first team during fall camp and has primarily been working with the second string while sophomores Maliek Collins and Vincent Valentine have become the starters.

Curry had 26 tackles, including three for loss and two sacks last season.

Nebraska doesn’t seem to be hurting for depth in the interior part of the defensive line. According to Husker Extra, junior Kevin Williams, who has returned from injury, has made a strong impression, as has sophomore Kevin Maurice.

Due to NCAA transfer rules, Curry will have to sit out a season, but will have two years of eligibility remaining starting in 2015.
