Tennessee RB Jalen Hurd arrested for underage drinking
Hurd and another male were arrested on Dec. 3 by University of Tennessee police. One was unconscious according to the police report, though it's unclear who was.
Hurd, 18, and Hunter Rivait, who is listed as a student in a university student directory, were arrested by citation on Dec. 3 after police spotted a car with its lights on in a university dorm parking garage. Police found an unconscious male inside.
The initial University of Tennessee police report does not identify the unconscious male, who was later transported to a hospital.
The case was referred to Knox County officials for prosecution, a University of Tennessee weekly crime log noted.
Both were charged with underage consumption of alcoholic beverages. While Rivalt entered his plea on Wednesday, Hurd is not scheduled to be booked until Jan. 20, long after Tennessee's bowl game against Iowa. Per the The Tennesseean, a UT football spokesperson didn't comment about any disciplinary action towards Hurd.
Hurd was Tennessee's leading rusher in 2014. He had 777 yards, nearly 400 more than Tennessee's second-leading rusher, and three touchdowns. He'll have competition for the posiition in 2014 after the Vols signed former four-star RB Alvin Kamara this week. Kamara played in 2014 at Hutchinson Community College.

WVU's Shannon Dawson reportedly set to become Kentucky's OC
According to multiple reports, the school is set to hire West Virginia's Shannon Dawson. Fox Sports first reported the news.

An official announcement cannot be made until Friday, per state hiring regulations, but Dawson will carry on the "Air Raid" offense installed the last two seasons by Neal Brown, who left UK after this season to become head coach at Troy. The 37-year-old Dawson worked under former Cats coach Hal Mumme, the godfather of that pass-happy spread attack, at both Southeastern Louisiana in 2003-04 and New Mexico State in 2005
Per Fox Sports, Dawson, previously the offensive coordinator for the Mountaineers, is making the move to the SEC because of the opportunity to call plays. At West Virginia, head coach Dana Holgorsen calls plays. According to a source to the Courier-Journal, Dawson's familiarity with the offense was a significant plus as the school didn't want to change offensive terminology after Brown's departure. He'll continue to coach at West Virginia through the bowl game.
West Virginia's offense was No. 11 in total offense in FBS but severely hampered by turnovers. The Mountaineers averaged over 500 yards per game but committed 28 turnovers, which ranked No. 116. Kentucky was No. 75 in the country in yards per game and averaged about a half-yard less than West Virginia did per play.
Mumme is considered one of the coaching mentors of Washington State coach Mike Leach and Holgorsen was an assistant under Leach at Texas Tech for eight seasons before moving to Houston and Oklahoma State.

You can now listen to the (NSFW) remarks that Bo Pelini made to his players on the night of December 2.
Thanks to the Omaha World-Herald, which broke the news of Pelini's comments toward Nebraska athletic director Shawn Eichorst in the meeting, you can in the player above.
Throughout his comments, Pelini called Eichorst names and said he was expecting his fate as Nebraska (former) coach. However, if you were expecting an unhinged Pelini similar to what you see sometimes on the sidelines during Nebraska games, you're going to be surprised. Throughout the 30 minutes, Pelini is composed, though his passion comes through. He also offers to take questions from his players, though he clearly had a lot of things to say.
While it's clear that the relationship between Pelini and Nebraska administration had soured to the point of no repair, he also serves as a good reminder to always know the ramifications of your decisions if you choose to nuke the bridges you've built after your tenure with an employer has ended.
